We opened our doors in May 1997
after moving to the Rogue Valley from the Seattle area.  While in Seattle, Tom co-owned a
comfort footwear store.  He ran back and forth from it to several foot and ankle clinics (he was on
staff at the U of WA, Harborview and some private practices)  where he worked closely with the
orthopedic surgeons, thus, perfecting his trade.

Tom began his career with feet at Lamonts, managing the shoe departments in Wenatchee, WA,
Idaho Falls, ID, Medford, OR, and Seattle, WA.  Then one day a stranger appeared in his shoe
department, observing him then approaching him with a career opportunity.  Tom thought long
and hard about it, then going with his instincts, gave Lamonts his notice and went into business
for himself.  He shortly after attended Northwestern University in Chicago and earned his
pedorthic certification on June 6, 1986.

Why did we move here???
After 13 years in the Seattle area, the gray skies, rain, and freeway traffic finally got to us.  We had
lived here briefly in '83-'84 and remembered the beauty, the sunny skies and especially, the
easygoing, slower pace... so here we are, in our "PARADISE".

Tom worked the store alone in the beginning, his wife, Debbie, went in and replaced him if he
was out of town attending shoe shows or his yearly PFA symposium.  Now we have a full-time
employee, Julian, who's also a certified pedorthist.  Debbie's in charge of Life is good.
tees and caps, paperwork and website at home.  Our store mascots, Papaya and Mai
Tai (sadly, we recently lost our beloved Mango), entertain everyone in the store.
